Ranveer Singh, AR Rahman To Perform At IPL 2022 Closing Ceremony But Fans Are Pissed

The 15tth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is nearing its end. With the addition of two new teams Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, the tournament lived up to its billing and produced some enthralling encounters, which have entertained the fans to the fullest.

Both the newcomers have booked their ticket to the IPL 2022 playoffs already, while the remaining two spots are still up for grabs, with the last round of league matches left to be played.

Three most successful franchises Mumbai Indians (5 titles), Chennai Super Kings (4 turtles), Kolkata Knight Riders (2 titles) have been officially knocked out of the playoffs race.

The knockout matches will be played at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens and Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium – two of the most iconic cricket grounds in the country.

The final will be played in Ahmedabad on May 29, preparations for which are in full swing. After giving the opening ceremony a missthe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to end the tournament on a high with a grand closing ceremony.

The starting timings for the summit clash has been pushed by half an hour to accommodate the 40-min long grand closing ceremony, according to a report published in The Times of India.

The final encounter of the season will now start at 8:00 pm, not 7:30 pm. The same report also confirms the names of two celebrities who would be performing at the ceremony.

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and Academy Award-winning music composer AR Rahman have been roped in to entertain the cricket fans with their performance.

The fans have welcomed Rahman’s inclusion with open arms but Ranveer’s addition has left the fans fuming. Many argued that it was the most contrast pairing one could possibly imagine, both in terms of personality and their skillset.

Majority of the fans said that alongside Rahman, who is a musical genius, they would have preferred a top singer, someone like Arijit Singh or Armaan Malik.

Expressing their discount with the closing ceremony star cast, several supporters wrote that since the pairing was a complete mis-match, they would give the event a miss and tune in to watch the live match.
